E³.series 2010 contains over 100 new functions in all modules of E³.series. Of particular note are the new options for table-based processing of mass data. With just a few interventions, a wealth of objects, such as sheets, components and connections, can be modified simultaneously. E³.panel’s 3D library enables optimized STEP imports of component models — a useful feature, since many component manufacturers offer downloadable STEP files of their components.
As well as the improvements in all E³.series modules, new modules have also been added – the E³.WiringDiagramGenerator automatically creates complete block diagrams including all connections, wires, disconnection plugs and splices – allowing hundreds of pages to be generated in just a few minutes. The new E³.FunctionalDesign module enables functional units to be assigned in reserved spaces and then later assigned to control units, actuators and sensors.
Zuken will also be showcasing its high-end development solution CR-5000 for electronics systems and PCB design and through integration with E³.series. Zuken is able to facilitate parallel development and simulation. For the development of control unit electronics and embedded software, CR-5000 provides a standardized design and verification environment that in particular also supports FPGA/PCB co-design and embedded processors.
Zuken will also be exhibiting E³.e-PLM, the design data management environment for E³.series. This solution can be implemented with automatic configuration settings, or can be totally customized – providing access and control mechanisms for effective management of variants, revisions and for product customization. The key focus of Zuken’s presentations is comprehensive collaboration across departmental lines, including suppliers — an aspect that is becoming more and more important. This extremely important issue is a recurring theme throughout all of Zuken’s software solutions.
