WIN! the Microchip ATSAMA5D27-SOM1-EK1 Development Board

Microchip is a provider of microcontroller and analogue semiconductors, providing low risk product development, lower total system cost and faster time to market for thousands of diverse customer applications. In partnership with Farnell element14, Microchip is offering engineers the ATSAMA5D27-SOM1-EK1 that helps radically simplify next Embedded Linux design.

The ATSAMA5D27-SOM1-EK1 is a fast prototyping and evaluation platform for the SAMA5D2 based System in Packages (SiPs) and the SAMA5D27-SOM1. The ATSAMA5D27-SOM1 (system on module) targets embedded Linux applications and features a Cortex A5 MPU.

Microchip have done all the complex design work leaving users to simply place the module onto their application board.

The module is 38x40mm, industrial temperature grade (-40°C/+85°C) and requires a single 3.3V power supply for operation. Designers can consider the SoM to be just one of the components they require to build their product, longevity of supply is assured via Microchip’s policy on End of Life.
