Wilson Process Systems experiences growth in emerging market sectors

Wilson Process Systems (WPS), the leading contract manufacturer, has seen a significant increase in business coming from emerging markets such as smart metering and alternative energy. This has offset a slow down in other sectors and helped the company maintain its 10 year growth pattern.

Comments Sales Director, Nick Jones: “Last year we perceived a need to develop business in other industry sectors. EMS contracts can take a year or more to come to fruition, but now we have added 6-8 significant new strategic accounts in new areas. This means that our record of increasing revenues year on year since 2000 has continued, even through the recession.”

Traditionally strong in transport, signage, power generation and audio, WPS’ customer base now includes smart metering, LED lighting and alternative energy companies such as wind turbine producers. Adds Jones: “Quality and reliability is vital for these applications. So while mass consumer products are often manufactured in the Far East, customers who service these new hi-rel markets are more demanding and still prefer to have their boards produced by a more local, UK EMS provider, such as WPS.”
