V2X services established in cross-border ITS corridor

With the help of CETECOM and other parties from Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, the Federal Highway Research Institute will be involved in the initiative ‘Cooperative ITS Corridor (C-ITS Corridor)’ to establish co-operative systems for road traffic.

The initiative aims to establish V2X services in a cooperative cross-border ITS corridor. Until 2016 the sector from Rotterdam, over Frankfurt am Main, to Vienna, will be equipped with mobile barrier signs included with V2X communication technology.

For the first time, cars of diverse ranges are able to exchange information with the mobile road infrastructure to increase road safety and traffic efficiency.

CETECOM is proud to implement design, specification and documentation of the necessary test cases related to the C-ITS infrastructure functions of this project.
