“Safety is a global concern,” said Keith Williams, UL’s President and CEO, “Manufacturers and consumers share a concern that products entering the global marketplace are safe for use. Add to that the pressure to get products to market quickly and it becomes imperative that manufacturers have a single source for global safety certification. The pan-EU Mark supports our commitment to ensuring safe products worldwide.”
There are several benefits for manufacturers that obtain the UL-EU Mark in combination with the UL Listing Marks for Canada and the U.S. These include efficiencies gained by taking a given product through the safety testing and certification process once, receiving authorization to apply the combined UL certification Mark to demonstrate compliance to the marketplace and leveraging that single source for post market compliance. For consumers, the new UL-EU Mark means that they can look for UL on the products they buy and know that the products have been tested and certified to the high safety standards for which UL is known.
