TI’s carrier grade WiMAX software library follows an extensive development and testing process, making it easy to integrate into both OEM products and service provider networks. The rigorous testing and responsive customer support of this library drastically reduces internal development costs for equipment manufacturers. The targeted processor for this code is the TMS320TCI6482, TI’s high performance digital signal processor (DSP), providing OEMs the power and flexibility to develop a
customized platform specific to their system requirements. The ease of integration offered by TI’s software library creates opportunities to collaborate with solutions providers and develop technology that reaches beyond basic WiMAX functionality, setting the stage for complete,
end-to-end base band systems.
The software library can be easily customized and upgraded to support added functionalities to meet future 802.16e certification requirements. By providing the Wave 2 permutation schemes in this first release of the library, the highly-optimized software enables customers to differentiate their wireless applications with enhanced features and components immediately.
With mobile WiMAX rapidly emerging on the broadband wireless front, the need for swift, seamless interoperability testing is becoming increasingly necessary. The five wave requirements established by the WiMAX Forum define a rigorous certification process, with interoperability testing labs demonstrating compliance among service and solutions providers and ultimately providing feature-rich, high-speed broadband wireless access via WiMAX. TI’s WiMAX software development
closely follows the Forum’s certification requirements and is committed to providing software to meet the needs of WiMAX system designers.
TI’s upgraded software library, with feature enhancements that support
multiple waves of WiMAX compliance, is available now.
