As one of the world’s leading specialists in the field of power supply technologies, TDK-Lambda EMEA will be showcasing its latest offering to industrial equipment manufacturers visiting this year’s electronica. With a range of 1.5W to 100kW AC-DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, Programmable (Lab) DC power supplies and EMC/EMI noise filters, callers to the TDK-Lambda booth (Hall B2, Stand 205) will find a reliable and efficient product that will fit their applications.
Martin Southam, Marketing Director at TDK-Lambda Europe, says: “TDK-Lambda has continued to invest heavily in new product development despite the recent economic slowdown. As a result, we will be showing our best ever line-up of exciting new products in Munich this year.”

Among the many new product introductions to be presented during the show is the TDK-Lambda HFE1600 series of 1U high, single output AC-DC hot swap front end power supplies that have an industry leading power density for a 1.6kW front-end of 25.2W/in3. Intended for equipment requiring reliable 12V, 24V and 48V bulk power, typical applications include communications, broadcast, military (COTS), laser and process control. Up to 20% output voltage adjustment is possible, enabling the HFE1600 to be customer set according to specific needs. Operating from a universal 85 to 265Vac input, the high efficiency of up to 92% minimises heat dissipation and power consumption thus meeting Climate Savers Computing efficiency standards.

For medical applications, TDK-Lambda extends its EFE range of digitally controlled power supplies with the introduction of the 400W, EFE400M Medical range. Combining a 4kVac reinforced input-to-output isolation with dual fusing and an output-to-ground isolation of 1500Vac, the EFE400M meets EN/IEC/UL/CSA 60601-1 safety approvals for medical equipment, making it suitable for use in B (body) and BF (body floating) type medical applications. The new NVM175 range also conforms to BF type medical applications and with leakage current of less than 200µA at 264Vac/63Hz surpasses worldwide medical equipment requirements. Like the EFE400M, the NVM175 is equally suitable for many other applications including broadcast, instrumentation, routers, servers and security networks, as well as ATE and automation equipment.

On its DC-DC Converter line-up, TDK-Lambda will introduce the new CN-A series that has a wide range 60 -160Vdc input, which is widely used in railway applications. Offered with power ratings of 30W or 200W the CN-A DC-DC modules are suitable for both rolling stock and fixed installations, enabling engineers to design cost-effective EN50155 compliant systems without the risks associated with custom product designs and in a much shorter timescale. TDK-Lambda also offers a design and manufacture service for customers preferring to buy in complete systems meeting their exact electrical and mechanical requirements. Designed for harsh environments, the CN-A series meets the stringent shock and vibration requirements of IEC61373 Category 1 Class B, as well as the Japanese equivalent standard JIS E 4031.

The LDC/LDV12 series has been specifically developed for applications requiring high reliability, such as those found in indoor and outdoor LED lighting installations, as well as digital signage and industrial applications. These 12W supplies are IP66-rated and accept a wide universal AC input; available in two output modes – the LDV12 series provides a constant voltage of 12V, 15V and 24V and the LDC12 series provides a constant current of 350mA and 700mA.

Throughout the exhibition, experts from TDK-Lambda will be on hand to provide visitors with advice and guidance on selecting power supplies for their own specific applications, with the emphasis on combining efficiency with versatility, reliability and value for money.
