System ‘revolutionises’ molecular beam epitaxy research

The Compact 21 Discover, a 3” substrate Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) research system, has been released by RIBER. By presenting the reactor on an open frame, the system enables 360° access to the machine’s components. The transfer rod, which is usually a fragile, long part of the system, is incorporated into the electronics cabinet. Together, these features are claimed by RIBER to revolutionise MBE research.

According to RIBER, the Compact 21 Discover is the only 3” MBE system on the market to combine 12 symmetric cell ports with a 10” central port. The company also claim that the system provides superior performance through it’s low footprint, ergonomic design and flexible use. The system was presented by the company at the 8th International Conference on Molecular Beam Epitaxy, held in Flagstaff, USA, from 7th to 12th September 2014.
