“Eastern Europe represents a significant growth opportunity for Sony ISS and this is a strategic commitment to build close lasting relationships with both partners and customers,” said Gary Quinn, senior manager for the region. “We have market leading products and extensive experience in all aspects of image and video acquisition: our aim is to build a network of trusted partners who can bring these benefits to a growing and dynamic market.”
Sony ISS’s new Eastern European distributor network already includes partners in several territories, including Business Media based in Moscow, Russia; Tayama based in Katowice, Poland; Elvia based in Prague, Czech Republic and Mitax based in Budapest, Hungary. The partners already chosen have been carefully selected to provide local support for integration of Sony ISS news and products based on their detailed knowledge of their individual industrial markets and most importantly local language for communication.
Sony’s ISS division markets a range of industrial and professional products based on core technology developed within Sony’s camera groups. These industrial products also benefit from the economies of scale, ease-of-use and production proving associated with consumer products. Sony ISS products include analogue and digital, colour and monochrome CCD video cameras, and smart / intelligent cameras. The company’s FCB camera blocks, for example, have become the solution of choice in a wide range of OEM applications. Further announcements are expected as more distributers are signed up.
