Scottish Enterprise awards R&D grant to Dialog Semiconductor

Dialog Semiconductor has been awarded a £1.3M grant by Scottish Enterprise to support the creation of a new design centre in Edinburgh City Centre.

The new office overlooking St Andrews Square will become a centre of excellence for audio technology within the company and is expected to employ at least 20 Design Engineers by the end of this year.

Building on ambitious company growth plans the ‘R&D plus’ award will reinforce Dialog’s commitment to the area by providing support to recruit staff with the specialist skills needed. The centre will focus on the development of enabling technology for enhanced signal processing targeted to complement Dialog’s energy management integrated circuits. The first such products are expected to be introduced within the next 12-18 months.

Dialog Semiconductor is a UK plc listed on the German stock exchange. The company is a fabless design house for complex mixed analogue and digital products, outsourcing high volume production but with in-house test and approval facilities prior to product release to customers. Employing over 250 people in Europe, USA and Asia it sells its products through a combination of direct sales and specialist distributors.
