RS Components (RS) has relaunched two of its RS Local branches in Aberdeen and Pontypridd. Both innovation centres have a product and service offer to support engineers locally across the design, build and maintain phases of the product life cycle.

The newly transformed RS Local in Aberdeen, located on the Altens Industrial Estate, signifies a major investment by RS into its branch network offer since the launch of the first RS Local in Bermondsey in May 2017. The new branch features digital displays and videos to illustrate the value-added services offered to customers.

RS Local Aberdeen will continue to deliver an excellent customer experience and the same wide range of products will be available to collect within 15 minutes to meet local demand.

Steve McIntyre, RS Local branch manager in Aberdeen, said: “We had a great response on the day to our new-look branch and attendees enjoyed the behind-the-scenes warehouse tour highlighting the thousands of stock items we hold. Visitors were able to enter a draw for various prizes including a bumper hoard of RS Pro products – everything for the discerning engineer, and we had on hand representatives from our own brand range RS PRO, and our free design software DesignSpark. We’d also like to thank our suppliers who attended, including WD40, SBD, Ambersil, Norstar, Advance Tapes, and SMC. We’re thrilled about the response so far and we’re sure our customers in Aberdeen will be inspired by the new branch.”

Peter Malpas, Regional Managing Director, RS Northern Europe, said: “The RS local branches are designed to support customers through every phase of their design, build and maintenance. Having some of the latest technology and solutions showcased in our RS Local branches is a unique offering, and helps inspire and drive innovation in the community.

“We have technical representatives available in these centres offering advice and information on everything from our free DesignSpark software to IoT smart factory and building solutions. The RS Local branches we have refurbished so far have had a significant impact on the customers who use them.”

In Pontypridd the newly transformed RS Local is located on the Treforest Industrial Estate. The branch features digital displays and videos to illustrate the value-added services offered to customers.

RS Local South Wales will continue to deliver an excellent customer experience and the same wide range of products will be available to collect to meet local demand.
