Rochester to supply discontinued NXP products

Providing customers with a continuing supply of end-of-life products discontinued by the company, Rochester Electronics has entered into a continuing solution agreement with NXP Semiconductors.

As products reach the end of their normal life cycle, there are many industries that still require extended support for mission-critical products and programs for up to 10-20 years, or even longer. With the average life cycle of a semiconductor being less than five years, customers could face massive re-design and re-qualification costs.

Pierre LaBoisse, Senior Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing, NXP Semiconductors, comments: “We are pleased to appoint Rochester Electronics as our authorised global supplier for discontinued and mature products. Rochester is clearly the leading solution for end-of-life semiconductor support. Their long standing experience, capabilities and services provides our customers the most comprehensive support available.”

“This new agreement with NXP broadens our extensive product solution capabilities to a new level. Being able to support NXP customers with critical ongoing requirements is a very significant addition to our product offering,” commented Chris Gerrish, President, Rochester Electronics.
