Rochester expands MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38535 IC support

Through its Extension-of-Life products and solutions, Rochester Electronics has expanded its continuing manufacturing and support services of obsolete and active MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38535 integrated circuits for military and aerospace applications. Additionally, Rochester has expanded its environmental test lab that replicates environmental conditions and elements experienced by these applications.

Rochester is continuing to manufacture National Semiconductor’s 54AC00/QCA (5962-8754901CA), Intel’s 87C5 and Texas Instruments’ UA733M/BIA (8418501IA), all to MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38535 specifications. Through mechanical and electrical testing, training procedures and workmanship, Rochester Electronics complies with MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38535 requirements.

Saving customers time and money, Rochester’s continued manufacture of devices meeting MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38535 and the original semiconductor manufacturer’s specifications has prevented countless re-designs and re-qualifications of military and aerospace systems.

Eric Falconer, Quality Manager, Rochester Electronics, comments: “With MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38535 certifications in place, Rochester Electronics is able to step in as a fully-authorised manufacturer of semiconductor devices suitable for use within military and aerospace applications.”
