Bespoke vehicle converters, Code Blue Specialist Vehicles has taken delivery of five new Renault Trucks Master vans, citing the vehicle’s dimensions, payload, durability and reduced down-time, together with service from Sparks Commercial Services and Renault Trucks, for its purchase decision.

The new Masters, equipped with 130hp engine, with long wheelbase and H2 roof, have been converted into ambulances by Code Blue SV and will work all over the UK for Ambulance Transfers, either transporting patients to and from hospital for routine appointments, moving high dependency patients between hospitals, or attending emergencies.

Code Blue SV Managing Director, Chris Manfield, explained: “The Renault Trucks Master is the go-to choice for private ambulance services in the UK; the dimensions make the vehicle particularly good as a base for ambulances, both emergency and non-emergency. As well as being the correct size, the Master offers a decent post conversion payload of 750 kgand its price versus durability is exceptional. The aftersales support from Renault Trucks is extremely good too, which prevents unnecessary down time for our customers.”

Code Blue SV was formed in 2015 when Manfield realised there was a gap in the market for high quality emergency vehicles and patient handling equipment at affordable prices.

“After many years in the industry, it became apparent that no two customers had the same requirements, and it was time that all private ambulance companies had the option to purchase bespoke, one-of-a-kind vehicles as single unit orders, instead of this option being only available to customers with large vehicle fleets, and even larger budgets! Renault Trucks Master has been the perfect partner to make this ambition a reality,” said Manfield.

Converting in excess of 50 Master LM35s per year, the company also purchases Renault Trucks Master chassis cab variants to convert into modular box ambulances. “We have dealt with Sparks Commercial Services since our inception; the support we get from them is second to none,” explained Manfield.

Code Blue starts the conversion process after finalising the internal designs and specifications with its customers. Manfield commented: “We are a very vertically integrated company, manufacturing the majority of the components that go into our builds, from M1-compliant seats to circuit boards. This gives our customers a huge amount of flexibility in design over other conversion companies that buy all their parts from third parties. Once we have the chassis, we can build the vehicle in approximately ten days.”

“Business is extremely good for us as a fairly new company, our market share is increasing all the time, something which we could not have achieved without the support of both Renault Trucks and Sparks Commercial Services,” concluded Manfield.
