Registrations invited for Philips Connectivity Plugfest 02

Royal Philips Electronics launches the second Connectivity Plugfest with Tektronix Inc, one of the leading companies in test and measurement instrumentation, as its technology support partner for the event. ‘Philips Connectivity Plugfest 02’ is scheduled to take place in the Philips Innovation Campus, Bangalore, India, between 13 -15 July, 2010.

The focus of the Plugfest will be on the connectivity domains – HDMI & HDMI CEC, DLNA/UPnP, Bluetooth and USB. Participants will include companies working on these technologies from the consumer electronics, semiconductor, PC, Test & Measurement, Peripheral and Accessory domains. Any company working on these technologies and willing to test the Interoperability of their product with the products developed by other companies can attend this event. It is a unique opportunity provided to companies to validate new design platforms and products with other participating companies. Participants can also test their devices with products used as reference devices at Philips Interoperability certification Centre and can book a slot with well-known test tool and equipment manufacturers taking part in the event.

According to Nataraj Kumar, Director, Consumer Lifestyle, Philips Innovation Campus, Bangalore, ‘This Plugfest provides an unique opportunity to test the design implementations against products from other manufacturers, emulating how their products will react in real-life, thus saving cost and time for companies. It will also give a fast feedback on any errors or ambiguities in standards and thus help in improving the quality of the standards’
