The Power Sources Manufacturers Association Magnetics Committee is sponsoring a Special Presentation session at APEC 2010 entitled Inductive Component Technology. The Special Session will take place Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 2:00 to 5:30 pm at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, California. It will feature seven industry experts who will provide a broad overview of current trends, materials and design issues.
Magnetics design is often less-than-familiar terrain for power electronics engineers, and yet it is an important thing to get right. Attendees of this Special Presentation will have a better understanding of various component configurations and factors that are shaping inductive component technologies. OEM designers, system designers and component developers will become more aware of new options, thus helping developers provide more effective configurations and designers to better optimize their power electronics.

Stephen Carlsen, co-chair of the PSMA Magnetics Technical Committee, stated, The PSMA Magnetics Committee has recognized the need at APEC for more practical, application-oriented information about our specialty. This Special Presentation session will not only be very informative but will also provide an opportunity for attendees to interact with other professionals who are active in the design and application of new materials and designs. Carlsen further stated, I encourage you to register for APEC 2010 and attend this Special Session and other PSMA sponsored meetings during the week.
