The system is based on stochastic, dynamic programming and can process significantly more future knowledge than classical option analysis.
Time-steps AG will be assigned to the PSI Energy Markets GmbH within the PSI Group, thus further strengthening the already existing, comprehensive energy business solutions portfolio. In particular there are now stochastic processes available for portfolio optimisation whose superiority has been proven in many application areas in a number of projects with major energy companies. The system is characterised primarily by the improved quality of results while simultaneously dramatically reducing computation time and consideration and evaluation of immanent risks.
With the acquisition of Time-steps AG, PSI has provided another strong impetus in the field of smart grid and smart energy market activities. Specialised optimisation models developed by Time-steps allow, amongst other things, for the optimal use of energy storage systems which will play an increasingly important role for the integration of renewable energies.
