One of Denmark’s biggest upper secondary and vocational colleges has chosen future-proof infrastructure solution from data centre and cloud provider, Proact. When CPH West and Copenhagen Technical Colleges merged to create a broader and improved range of training and education options for young people in greater Copenhagen, NEXT was created. As a result of this merger, three data centres needed to be consolidated to create a more efficient and easier to manage IT environment.

With a long-standing heritage when it comes to delivering successful infrastructure projects, Proact had the knowledge that was required to meet NEXT’s needs for a flexible, scalable solution.

The platform which was designed and implemented by Proact’s team of international specialists has the potential to be developed over time to form a hybrid cloud platform which combines private and external environments.

NEXT can have peace of mind that its critical data is secure due to the use of leading enterprise-class technology which also optimises both performance and capacity. The solution also supports all standard protocols and platforms.

With its new cloud-ready environment, NEXT has leveraged its investment with a solution that will underpin future IT plans and the company’s vision/mantra: “We think big and do things simply”. Proact and NEXT will continue to work together to develop a successful hybrid cloud strategy, with the cloud service provider becoming a trusted advisor and acting as an extension of the college’s internal IT team.

With Proact cloud-ready solution, NEXT has taken the first step on its journey away from a traditional data centre and towards the hybrid cloud. The next step will be to place a range of services and workloads in the cloud while introducing relevant managed cloud services.
