Power amplifier suits broadband jamming applications

A solid state high power amplifier from Empower RF Systems is available at Richardson RFPD. The 1205/BBM3K5OEL is suitable for broadband mobile jamming, communications, general test, and band-specific applications from 500MHz to 2700MHz.

The compact module utilises high-power advanced GaN devices that provide excellent power density, high efficiency, wide dynamic range and low distortion.

Exceptional performance, long-term reliability and high efficiency are achieved by employing advanced broadband RF matching networks and combining techniques, EMI/RFI filters, machined housings and qualified components.

The amplifier features instantaneous ultra-broadband performance, as well as built-in control, monitoring and protection circuits.

Additional key features include an operating frequency range of 500–2700MHz, power output CW (Psat) at 30W and power output @ 1dB gain compression (P1dB) at 20W.

Operating voltage is 28V with 50Ohm input/output impedance.

The dimensions are 6.0 x 3.0 x 1.0in.
