Polar Instruments has appointed Martyn Gaudion as CEO with effect from January 2010. Gaudion has held various senior roles at Polar during the last twenty years and has held the position of Polar’s sales & marketing director for the past ten years.
During his time at the company, Polar has developed industry-leading PCB fabrication, design and documentation tools such as Speedstack and Speedflex; the CITS series of controlled impedance test systems; and the Si8000/9000 transmission line design systems. These tools are used extensively by PCB fabricators and OEM engineers to simplify PCB design and fabrication and to improve production yields.

Looking to the future of PCB design, Gaudion comments; “Polar has helped to define best-practice in
high-speed PCB design and fabrication by providing tools which replace time-consuming manual calculations with accurate but easy-to-use field solvers which significantly reduce design time and provide tighter control over PCB specifications. In the future, Polar Instruments will deliver tools which will help our customers to take PCB design and fabrication into the multi-GHz arena.”

The previous CEO, Martyn Mann, will continue his involvement in Polar by replacing Polar’s founder, Doug Campbell, as Chairman, whilst Campbell will take the title of Founding Director.

Gaudion adds; “Both Martyn Mann and Doug Campbell will remain involved with Polar Instruments, continuing to provide the considerable expertise and experience which has helped Polar tools to become the de facto standard for controlled impedance and global supply chain communication of PCB layer stack-up.”
