The company’s integrated circuits bring high-performance, reduced size and power, and reduced cost to high-speed optical fiber and copper communications systems used in data communications and storage, and telecommunications. The company shipped its 20 millionth device in July this year.

Phyworks CEO, Stephen King, said, We have world-class engineering here in Bristol and our team has developed transceiver and equalizer technology for high-speed networks that greatly improves their performance. Our growth is founded upon engineering excellence and a global perspective when it comes to marketing. The UK is a technology leader in communications and we’re proud to be recognized as contributing to that position.

Mark Taylor of Microsoft, the title sponsor of the league table, commented: It is great to see the privately-owned technology companies delivering sustained growth, and making a positive contribution to the technology industry as a whole, despite the economic slowdown.
