At the upcoming AUTOMATICON exhibition, taking place March 19 - 22 in Warsaw, Poland, Essemtec will highlight the Paraquda SMD pick-and-place, the first system ever to use ePlace operating software, as well as the table-top screen printer Fino. AUTOMATICON is the most important trade fair for automation, control, measurement and robotics in Poland. The mission of the event is to promote new technology and solutions for industry, through this our macro branch of industry that plays crucial role in economic growth.
Essemtec’s Paraquda is a highly flexible, fast SMD pick-and-place machine that combines a large feeder capacity (up to 240 intelligent feeder), fast programming and changeover while the machine is running, with the ability to quickly place any component from 01005 up to 80x70 mm including fine-pitch, BGA, CSP or flip chips. The Paraquda series automatic pick-and-place machines are designed to fulfill the requirements of a high-mix SMT production. The placement head is equipped with four axes, each one of them with its own vertical and rotation drive system and each can be controlled individually. All SMD components are placed quickly, are reproducible and are reliable using modern placement technologies.

The Paraquda is operated and programmed using ePlace, Essemtec’s intuitive and graphical software. Additionally, the newly developed double-8 mm, 12 mm & 16-24 mm hyQ-Feeder allows four components to be picked up simultaneously. This, together with the indexing time of only 60 ms, increases the machine’s placement speed by more than 25 percent. An integrated cutter for tape and cover tape is available. An active retracting system ensures reliable, continuous feeding.

Essemtec also offers a fully featured dispensing option for its Paraquda. The new option extends the placement machine’s application range: In addition to placing 15,000 components per hour, the Paraquda now can dispense up to 20,000 glue or paste dots per hour. The new dispensing option provides the Paraquda pick-and-place with all the features of a modern dispensing machine, including a needle height calibration station and a fully automatic needle cleaning system.

Additionally, Essemtec will exhibit Fino, the semiautomatic printer with vision that is ideal for small to mid-size volumes. Intelligent control and the capability of aligning per two vision cameras combines high-quality technologies within a small footprint with a 17.7 x 19.7 (450 x 500 mm) printing area. The printer accepts any size stencil frame up to 23 x 23 (584 x 584 mm) and offers quick changeover.

For more information about Essemtec’s flexible production equipment, visit the company in Booth B-28/Hall 1 at the show. Personal demonstrations during the exhibition will be available.
