The Xilinx product line includes the Virtex series of FPGAs – high performance field programmable gate arrays for applications including networking, telecommunications, computing, wireless and video/imaging. In addition, Spartan FPGAs are available for cost-sensitive, high volume applications and the CoolRunner and XC9500 CPLD families of complex programmable logic devices offer low cost and low power. The Xilinx product line also includes a suite of high performance software design tools designed for embedded, DSP and connectivity markets.

DT Electronics is in the process of adding three new field applications engineers to support the new franchise, one of whom will also act as technical manager for programmable logic. The distributor is also appointing an internal franchise manager for Xilinx.
