NMI welcomes XMOS 100th member

Bristol-based microprocessor start-up XMOS Semiconductor has become the 100th member of the National Microelectronics Institute (NMI), the trade association representing the semiconductor industry in the UK and Ireland.

Noel Hurley, VP of Marketing, XMOS said, “The work the NMI does in representing the interests of the semiconductor sector and in encouraging a healthy exchange of ideas between like minded companies, is of great value to high tech start-ups such as ours”.

Derek Boyd, CEO, NMI said, “It’s a proud moment for us to hit this magic number, and to have a trailblazing company like XMOS make it happen makes it all the more special. To continually provide value to our membership it’s vitally important that we keep abreast of key changes in the industry and working closely with companies like XMOS helps us achieve this goal.”

The NMI celebrated its 10th anniversary last year and has grown rapidly to represent a complete cross section of the semiconductor industry. Its current membership spans the supply chain and includes fabless companies, IDMs, foundries, design service and IP providers as well as research and academic institutions.
