The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network (NanoKTN), one of the UK’s primary knowledge-based networks for Micro and Nanotechnologies, is pleased to announce that its support has helped a UK nanotechnology business to secure new sales and forge relationships with key collaboration partners. Exilica, a UK manufacturer of spherical polymer particles, has attended a number of NanoKTN events, as both a delegate and exhibitor, using them to market its product range including its latest μ-Sq beads.
The NanoKTN’s primary aim is to encourage collaboration and knowledge transfer between key players in the UK industry, as well as start-ups and SMEs. One of the methods to ensure networking between these players is to facilitate interactions through networking and events. By doing this, the NanoKTN supports the UK supply chain and creates economic wealth for UK industry.

“The NanoKTN’s events have been hugely beneficial to us and have acted as an integral part of our product marketing campaign. Attending the events puts us in direct contact with our target audience, enabling us to ensure our product reaches the right people. Most of our customers have actually come from attending events hosted by the NanoKTN and without this platform of opportunity, many people would not have heard about us,” says Dr Daniel Lynch, Technical Director, Exilica.

Lynch continues, “The NanoKTN is a critical part of the micro and nanotechnology community in the UK. By generating conversation between industry professionals and academics, they have helped secure a supply chain crucial to the UK economy and to the success of our business. We have already recommended the NanoKTN to many of our customers and would encourage anyone working within the industry to register as a member and attend the events.”

As nanotechnology is still an emerging market, its supply chain is not as complete as it should be and there is a clear lack of knowledge about what facilities are available in the UK. By bringing together industry and academia and offering organisations an outlet for product and business promotion, it aims to build an end-to-end supply chain, whilst directly assisting its members to get their products to market faster and easier.

Alec Reader, Director of the NanoKTN adds, “At the NanoKTN, we are dedicated to facilitating the transfer of knowledge within industry. Our events have been hugely advantageous to our members and have helped many organisations strengthen business and generate connections. We would encourage anyone wanting to learn about developments within the micro and nanotechnology market, whilst promoting their own business capabilities, to attend our events.”
