The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network is pleased to announce the launch of the second edition of its UK Nanotechnology Directory, a guidebook to the UK’s world-class micro and nanotechnology sector, featuring over 450 organisations active in nanotechnology in the UK.
The UK Nanotechnology Directory, available for free to anyone working within the MNT industry, provides users with information about R&D facilities and services available in the UK. As well as offering the potential to identify possible collaborative partners with specific expertise and technology, it will be used to promote the expertise of UK businesses to a national and international audience, ensuring competitors and potential investors and partners are aware of the strength of the UK MNT industry.

Nanotechnology is already being used in the development and manufacture of products in a number of different areas, including medicine, materials, electronics, coatings and energy saving technology, all with positive effects. The UK has long been a pioneer in technology innovation and the NanoKTN is dedicated to supporting the growth of UK capabilities and raising awareness of nanotechnology both in the UK and internationally.

“Due to the success of the first edition of the Directory in 2010, the NanoKTN is delighted to announce the improved second edition. It features an enhanced functionality by introducing the company profiles in categories, and a much wider circulation. At the NanoKTN, we actively promote the exploitation and commercialisation of micro and nanotechnologies by informing, facilitating innovation and encouraging collaborations between all members of the supply chain. The UK Nanotechnology Directory not only raises the profile of organisations, but also offers the opportunity for collaboration and the exchange of information and ideas,” explains Alec Reader, Director of the NanoKTN.

Individuals and organisations that work in the UK MNT sector can request a free copy of the UK Nanotechnology Directory by emailing enquiries@nanoktn.com.

Any member organisation not already listed in the UK Nanotechnology Directory is encouraged to register their details for the 2012 edition by visiting the online directory at www.thedirectory.eu.com.

Established by the Technology Strategy Board, the NanoKTN is managed by Centre for Process Innovation Ltd, a leading technology development and consulting company.
