Multi-Tech Systems announced the promotion of Damian Luna to President and Chief Operating Officer. Luna, who has been the company’s COO for three years, has taken on this additional role to continue to build on the success of transitioning Multi-Tech from a hardware manufacturer to a complete M2M communications solutions provider.
“Damian has defined a vision and direction that has helped Multi-Tech establish itself as a customer-focused company that simplifies the M2M communications process,” said Patricia Sharma, Multi-Tech CEO. “Taking the reins as President allows him to maximize our opportunities in an industry with double digit growth.”

Multi-Tech is known for its high quality modems, routers and gateways and its distinct embedded device networking products that are pre-approved by carriers as end devices. The company also has a line of network appliances, including FaxFinder fax servers and VOIP gateways. Since Luna came on board in 2010, the company has worked to enable solutions with platforms and software to help customers significantly reduce time to market. According to Luna, “The focus is all about simplifying M2M solutions for customers so they can focus on their own core competencies.”

Before Multi-Tech, Luna spent five years as a member of the executive team at G&K Services, a $1 billion-a-year market leader in corporate identity apparel programs. Prior to that, he worked 18 years at Nalco Chemical Company, a provider of integrated water treatment and process improvement services, chemicals and equipment. He quickly advanced into top leadership positions with his ability to carry out innovative strategies and streamline operations.

Luna earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University. A member of several industry-related associations, his graduate studies emphasized finance at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
