The MOST Cooperation will again participate in the MOST Forum as knowledge partner and exhibitor. At this fifth International MOST Conference on April 23, 2013 in Stuttgart/Esslingen (Germany), the standardization organization for the leading automotive multimedia network Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) will celebrate the ongoing success of MOST150 being rolled out. In the exhibition area, the MOST Cooperation will showcase a new feature of MOST called Remote Control”, which the MOST Cooperation is working on adding to the MOST specifications. The new feature will be shown in a demo that connects a head unit with several displays and an amplifier over MOST50 with unshielded twisted pair (UTP) copper wire as well as over MOST150 with coaxial cable.
Volume of MOST150 Cars Boosting Succeeding the initial rollout in 2012, the third MOST generation
MOST150 based on the MOST Specification Rev 3.0 is now ramping in volume, stated Henry Muyshondt, Technical Liaison of the MOST Cooperation. The rollout has started in the new Audi A3 and will be followed by Daimler‘s S-Class vehicles. Following this, the technology will roll out successively through other car models in these two groups and by further carmakers in Europe and Asia. With the MOST Ethernet channel being used on the road to transmit IP data within the vehicle, there is no need to force all data into a particular format to fit a single transmission protocol. MOST transports different types of data such as audio, video, control information and Ethernet or IP frames in parallel.
