Morgan Advanced Materials invests in manufacturing

In order to further increase production of flow sensor assemblies for use in heat, gas and water metering applications, Morgan Advanced Materials has announced that the company has made a major investment in a dedicated assembly cell at its manufacturing facility in Southampton, UK.

Follwing significantly increased global customer demand for state-of-the-art residential metering products, the investment offers increased production capacity and improved product consistency capable of supplying to customers all around the world. Enabling them to accommodate a range of requirements, the investment allows specialist engineers in the business to adapt the architecture and manufacturing process to meet customers’ individual needs. Additionally, the investment reflects Morgan’s commitment to continued investment in its technical ceramics sites, and the UK manufacturing sector.

With this new investment, Morgan is also able to customise sensors, offering the capability to produce unique products for individual customers to provide distinctive advantages in the market place. The company is also able to provide custom PZT shapes and bespoke sub-assembly solutions for a variety of metering applications.

The facility has the capability of supplying product in volumes that will meet the demands of this rapidly growing market. There is a worldwide drive to install smart metering solutions in the residential sector, exemplified by British Gas’s project to have the latest metering technology in all homes by 2020.
