Molex Incorporated has restructured its website to allow engineers to easily find REACH data and a RoHS certificate of compliance for every part published on Molex.com. REACH deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances manufactured in or imported into the European Union. It is not specifically a product substance restriction requirement like RoHS, but rather a regulation that is designed to ensure substances have been properly evaluated and registered and to notify end-users of any products that may contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).

The REACH SVHC data is displayed in the product environmental compliance section on the right-hand side of the online part number datasheet. Alongside the REACH data is an indication of the part’s EU RoHS and, if applicable, ELV (End-of-Life Vehicle) status, as well as the China RoHS status. The downloadable RoHS certificate can be found on the list view results screen or on the part number datasheet in the link marked ‘RoHS Certificate of Compliance (PDF)’.

“The ability for engineers to easily find important environmental product information on Molex.com is very important to us,” said Joel Eurich, global environmental, health & safety manager, Molex Incorporated. “REACH and RoHS data is essential to making the right product purchase and we hope the new, easy-to-use update on our site will save our customers time.”

A customised RoHS certificate of compliance for a list of Molex part numbers is also available: www.molex.com/molex/products/rohsCoC.jsp. Here, users can copy and paste Molex part numbers (including in-house part number cross-references) from a spreadsheet or .txt file into the multiple part entry form on the website to generate a PDF with all of the part numbers' RoHS compliance status listed in a table.
