Products include high-performance and radiation-hardened analogue mixed-signal integrated circuits, FPGAs, SoCs and ASICs; power management products; timing and synchronisation devices and precise time solutions, setting the world’s standard for time; voice processing devices; RF solutions; discrete components; enterprise storage and communication solutions, security technologies and scalable anti-tamper products; Ethernet solutions; Power-over-Ethernet ICs and midspans; as well as custom design capabilities and services.
The company has approximately 4,800 employees globally.
Embedded solutions provider Microchip has made a series of acquisitions, most recently it bought Atmel in 2016, Micrel in 2015 and Supertex in 2014.
Both companies have Arrow and Digi-Key as global distributors. Microsemi also sells through Future Electronics, Mouser and Richardson RFPD, and has Solid State Supplies as a local distributor in the UK and Ireland.
Microchip has Avnet, Farnell element14 and RS Components on its global roster and Ineltek as a regional distributor in Europe.
