Jürgen Meyer has been named as Director of the automotive market segment at Rohde & Schwarz. He is responsible for developing the market segment as far as product positioning and expanding the customer base.

Rohde & Schwarz is currently developing an extended portfolio of automotive Ethernet and radar test solutions that includes radar target simulators for development and end-of-line production testing as well as analysis systems for testing the quality of high-frequency radar signals and determining how they are influenced by radomes and coatings.

"My task is to position our entire automotive portfolio on the market," explains Meyer.

Rohde & Schwarz has already established itself in the automotive sector as a manufacturer of T&M solutions for EMC and connectivity – for example, for 4G, 5G, Bluetooth and 802.11p.

The eCall/ERA-GLONASS test system, consisting of the R&S CMW500 and the GNSS-capable R&S SMBV100A vector signal generator, for example, have already proven their value. In addition to its broad product portfolio, the company's international focus helps it to expand its market position.

"The automotive industry needs global partners and Rohde & Schwarz is ideally positioned," emphasises Meyer.

Meyer has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive sector. Most recently, he headed the automotive division at Berner & Mattner and was the German representative in the international Automotive Executive Committee for parent company Assystem.
