Web site fuels test firm’s expansion

MCS Test Equipment, has just announced that it is moving into new – and much larger – premises to accommodate a 75% increase in staffing levels over the last year. This twelve-month period has also seen the launch of a new website – www.mcs-testequipment.com- which increased turnover to £4.5m representing a 25% increase on the previous year.

The new building is 3,900 sq. ft compared with the 1,500sq ft of the previous premises and the additional space will not only accommodate the new staff but will provide more space and flexibility for a planned calibration lab to be added to enhance the service offering.

MCS is also taking the opportunity to overhaul and upgrade equipment to improve IT hosting services and telephony within the business.

Michael Gwynne, Marketing Manager for the company explained, “The improvement and enhanced usability of our website together with increased investment in marketing and a specific focus on CRM (Customer Relationship Marketing) has given us an accelerated growth curve both in terms of revenue and staffing requirements.

“A year ago we hadn’t really been planning on a move but circumstances – and the opportunity to enlarge and improve the business in other areas – persuaded us that this was a good time to consider new premises,” he continued.

“With new premises we can configure the space to maximise our effectiveness and integrate the new staff and equipment in a more streamlined manner. The new location will also give us space for further growth and staff additions, should they prove necessary, and provides us with the ability to add facilities like the calibration lab and possibly other complementary services in the future.”
