Maxim introduces the MAX14979E, a passive switch for high-speed LVDS signal routing for switchable graphics. Its ultra-low on-capacitance (8pF, typ) and on-resistance (4ohms, typ) minimize return loss and insertion loss to preserve signal quality at high data rates. In addition, the device includes ±15kV ESD protection (Human Body Model) on all pins, thus eliminating the need for external protection components. The MAX14979E switches four lanes of high-speed LVDS signals and three sets of AUX signals, making it ideal for routing LVDS signals from notebook PCs to external monitors.
The MAX14979E operates from a single 3.3V supply, and is fully specified over the -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius extended temperature range. It is available in an industry-standard, 6.0mm x 6.0mm, 36-pin TQFN package. Prices start at $1.65 (1000-up, FOB USA).
