Mainline Power, today announced a major partnership with Power Ethernet, the British Powerline Communications innovator. The partnership has been forged in response to significant demand from Mainline customers for a data solution that fits within its current product ecosystem.
The partnership will see the launch of the Premium Data Socket. Power Ethernet data networking technology will be embedded into Mainline’s socket range, delivering the proven advantage of the Power Ethernet Socket in a physical form that gives users ultimate flexibility.

Power Ethernet technology offers consumers, electricians and installers a highly simple and cost-effective way to network a home or building. PE Sockets embed Ethernet networking within a traditional double-gang wall socket, using Powerline and other complimentary technology to deliver data via existing mains wiring.

The Mainline Premium Data Socket shares the same form factor of other Mainline sockets – replacing the single power socket with four Ethernet network ports. Sockets can be moved and repositioned in seconds, enabling rapid deployment of Ethernet networking in any environment. Mainline Premium Data Sockets are naturally compatible with the full range of Mainline Power Track products.

Mainline offers a revolutionary alternative to traditional fixed wall sockets and extension leads that are commonplace in homes and places of work. Using a modular track-based design, Mainline Power Track enables flexible positioning of power sockets within a room using a twist-in, twist-out method.

Matthew Jacks, General Manager at Mainline Europe, said:
“Many of our customers have asked for data networking as part of a Mainline installation, and the addition of Power Ethernet technology adds this vital string to our bow in the simplest way possible. We’re delighted to be partnering with a modern company centered around Powerline technology.”

Daniel Rogoff, Managing Director of Power Ethernet, said:
Mainline offers something inherently more flexible, but up until now has been missing a dataoffering. It’s therefore only natural that these two technologies should come together into a superior solution and we look forward to a close relationship with a focus on development.”

Jonathan Clark, Managing Director of Mainline Power said:
“Mainline is all about flexible and simple access to power for people at work, at home and in their place of study. Power Ethernet shares this vision in its approach to giving people simple access to data. I am tremendously excited about partnering with Power Ethernet to match our innovative Mainline Power system with their equally innovative data over power technology. Power and data beyond limits has arrived!”
