Lattice ship 200m iCE40 FPGAs

Since being launched two and a half years ago, shipments of the iCE40, a series of FPGAs manufactured by Lattice Semiconductor, have reached 200m. By decreasing time-to-market, the company has opened new markets for FPGAs, most particularly within mobile consumer and handheld electronic designs.

Lattice Semiconductor has recently announced additions to the series: iCE40 Ultra FPGAs, which the company claims delivers five times more functionality at a 30% smaller size than competing solutions.

“iCE40 FPGAs have become vital components in many top brand smartphones and other mobile devices as this fiercely competitive market requires constant innovation, ever-lower power consumption and shorter product lifecycles,” says Joy Wrigley, iCE40 Product Line Manager, Lattice.
