Laird’s Embedded Wireless Solutions group will feature its new BL600 Bluetooth Low Energy modules. The BL600 modules provide exceptionally low power consumption with outstanding wireless range and are ideal for the medical and healthcare industries. Equipped with Laird’s smartBASIC, an event-driven programming language, the BL600 modules enable development of fully functional applications in just a few days.
“Leading medical devices and other business-critical devices rely on Laird embedded wireless solutions,” said Jonathan Kaye, Laird product manager. “CTIA 2013 gives us the opportunity to showcase not just our new BL600 modules but also our proven Wi-Fi, classic Bluetooth, and Range-Amplified Multi-Point modules.”
The Engineered Thermal Systems group will display its Thermobility Series, power generators for wireless sensors. These self-contained thin film thermoelectric energy harvesters convert waste heat into usable output DC power. Other thermal management solutions on display will include the new AA-250 Series Outdoor Coolers, for thermal management of battery backup systems along with the QC Series single directional temperature controllers.
Laird’s Telematics group will showcase mobile capabilities including LTE/MiMo antennas and 3G Fleet Management Devices. The LTE/MiMo antenna features an all in one package support for LTE primary and secondary antennas along with other band support including GPS and Digital Radio. This antenna supports OEM applications as well as the Heavy Equipment and Fleet Management markets. Laird is also highlighting upgraded versions of its Telematics and Fleet Management devices with 3G GSM support for the North American market.
