The Scottish-based Institute for System Level Integration (iSLI) provides postgraduate education, professional training and research in system level integration and system-on-chip technologies. The Institute will be holding their next major course in Essential High Speed Design for Signal Integrity in Bath on 4th – 6th March 2008. Previously held at the Institute’s Alba Campus in Livingston, this is the first time the course has come to the Bath Innovation Centre in the South West. The move is a result of a collaborative agreement with Silicon South West.
Covering high frequency and high speed PCB design, RF and EMI, the course will enable delegates to apply basic principles to develop an understanding of the key issues of high speed design to ensure a successful design for signal integrity. Although the course provides a much-needed foundation for understanding how to benefit from the use of EDA signal integrity tools, the basic techniques learnt can be immediately applied to improve PCB design, without the use of such tools.

The course content will be presented by Dr Robert Easson. Bringing extensive experience from many years’ in the application of design engineering and technology in the electronics industry, Robert has specialised in developing and delivering courses on High-Speed PCB Design and EMC for over eight years, with over 1000 delegates attending his courses in Europe and North America.

Notably, this is the first iSLI-run course to accept payment from Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) customers in the form of Passbook tokens. The Mentor Passbook scheme is an annual training plan for which tokens must be pre-purchased and are equivalent to 1 student per iSLI class per day.
