Ireland’s top companies target tech talent in London
In Ireland, employers are screaming out for experienced professionals in software, data, security, fintech, dev-ops and other key roles, as the country is significantly lacking. The shortage has led Ireland’s top tech companies to appear at Tech/Life Ireland | 404 London, an event that showcases hundreds of job opportunities in Ireland and the benefits of relocation to Dublin’s Silicon Docks and beyond.
Ireland tops the fastest-growing IT worker rankings and needs skilled tech workers. Nine of the top 10 global software companies, nine of the top 10 US tech companies and 10 out of 10 ‘born on the internet’ companies operate in Ireland.
Dublin is a centre of tech excellence with Adobe, Airbnb, Expedia, eBay, TripAdvisor, and Yahoo! among many to choose the city as their home. These established businesses have sparked a surge in Irish start-ups and a thriving tech community that includes some of the world’s most innovative companies like Etsy, Foodcloud and Soundwave.
The Irish tech population is a relatively small but thriving community. Career development often happens quickly, commutes are short, and the pace of life differs to London. Half of Ireland’s population is under 35, making it the youngest country in the EU.
Tech/Life Ireland | 404 London event co-founder, Jackie Slattery, said: “The biggest tech companies in the world are based in Dublin and wider Ireland. They all have a growing list of vacancies and offer the same employer benefits, but an alternative lifestyle. 404 London will showcase the city, the country, and the opportunities for tech professionals who are ready for a more positive work life balance, and career development. The event line-up includes trailblazing speakers and the opportunity to network with Ireland’s leading tech employers with top career opportunities.
Slattery concluded: “Attend 404 London, meet global technology employers and understand the benefits of moving to Ireland for fantastic career and personal opportunities.”
The Tech/Life Ireland | 404 London event will take place at Skills Matter | CodeNode, 10 South Place, London EC2M, 10am to 5pm, on Saturday 10 February.
