IGT Industries supplies the Astute attack submarine project

A key specialisation of IGT Industries is the design and supply of ruggedised electronic assemblies for use in military, rail, marine, mining and other applications where the operating environment is challenging. One of the latest projects to be completed is the first phase supply to Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine (NGSM) of units destined for the Boat 4 build, to be named Audacious when commissioned, of the Royal Navy’s latest nuclear-powered attack submarine family, the Astute Class.

The project was challenging, with rigorous technical requirements and short lead times. IGT delivered high quality, fully tested units ahead of time and is consequently well regarded by NGSM for future work. The next ship in the Astute fleet will be named Agamemnon, the fifth ship to carry that name in a proud tradition that stretches back to the battle of Trafalgar.

The defence industry is a key market sector where IGT’s 23 years of experience in design, technology and manufacturing is in great demand with a number of major military projects for customers throughout Europe currently at different stages in the product development cycle.
