ADLINK Technology Inc has announced the release of the PCI-7442 ─ a high-pin count, opto-isolated DIO card featuring 64 digital input and 64 digital output channels. Designed for applications requiring scores of I/O controls and superior digital output driving capability, the PCI-7442 is ideal for compact machine controllers, large-scale test and measurement devices, relay control, and automation systems.
Packed in a universal, 32-bit PCI form factor with plug-and-play capability, the state-of-the-art
PCI-7442 module implements an open drain Power MOSFET circuit in each of its 64 digital output
channels, enabling each channel to handle currents of up to 300mA. All PCI-7442 digital input lines
are identical, non-polarity, and isolated from each other to facilitate fast and accurate input
collection, even in noisy environments. The PCI-7442 I/O channels also come with up to 1250 VRMS
isolation voltage to protect the host system from damage due to voltage surges and external
current.

The PCI-7442 also provides a 32-channel TTL I/O that can collect TTL signals and a board ID design
that allows convenient card identification on systems with multiple PCI-7442 cards installed.
Promoting precision control, the PCI-7442 incorporates a change of state (COS) function that senses
any sharp change in the logical state of any digital input and notifies the user of the change via
an interrupt request. The PCI-7442 is also equipped with dependable safety functions including
programmable power-up DO status and a watchdog timer. The programmable power-up DO status enables the user to set the DO status after a hot system reset; providing vital DO status reference and
preventing execution of random and unexpected commands.

Supporting Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, the PCI-7442 also comes with
software drivers for widely-used application development environments, including Visual Basic,
Visual C, BCB, Delphi, LabVIEW and MATLAB.
