Anglia Components has become sole UK distributor franchise for NemeriX, the Swiss manufacturer of low power chip sets for GPS applications. Power consumption of each chip set is typically 25 mW at 1 fix per second, making the devices ideal for battery-powered portable applications. NemeriX's products include analogue RF receivers, digital baseband processors and integrated devices that combine SiGe (Silicon Germanium) RF and standard CMOS baseband technologies in a two-die, single package format.
Chip sets for indoor applications have recently been introduced. These provide high sensitivity at 45 mW power consumption. NemeriX GPS devices are used in recreational GPS products, asset tracking systems and mobile phones.

Commenting on the agreement, NemeriX’s director of EMEA sales, Rob Palfreyman, said, “Anglia demonstrated the best capabilities in UK technical and commercial support during our search for a distributor. Their enthusiasm for our products also shone through and we are sure that they will be very successful in helping us build our UK business.”

Steve Rawlins, Anglia Components’ CEO added, “We have added a number of more broadly-based semiconductor franchises in the last year but it is equally important that we complement these with best-in-class products from specialist suppliers. Our customers rely on us to keep them up to date with the latest technologies and nothing comes close to the power/performance offered by NemeriX GPS chip sets.”

In addition to the chip sets, development kits, software and design support services are available from Anglia.
