Global Invacom has signed a partnership agreement to manufacture and sell the forthcoming wireless high definition TV (HDTV) products from the Bristol, UK based specialist in video over wireless, ProVision Communications.
Global Invacom is one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of satellite TV peripherals, shipping over five million units globally, and is well positioned to deliver these new products internationally.

The HDTV market is growing rapidly: it is expected to grow from 44 million households this year, to 179 million by 2012 (source Informa Telecoms and Media). The migration to HDTV is creating demand for effective ways to distribute HD content around the home. ProVision and Global Invacom will be working together to address this opportunity.

Tony Taylor, managing director of Global Invacom, stated, “Sending HDTV content wirelessly around a typical home is extremely challenging; consumers have high expectations of quality and reliability. ProVision is the only company we’ve seen with a solution that really works.”

David Sykes, CEO of ProVision Communications commented “We are delighted to be working alongside such a well established and successful company as Global Invacom. Its reputation within the industry is second to none, and should help ensure a rapid take up of our new product line in the market next year”.

ProVision will formally announce its wireless HDTV products and run private demonstrations at CES 2009. The technology will also be on show as part of the UKTI CES unveiled exhibit, ProVision is one of just six companies chose by UKTI to represent British innovation.
