Free multilingual machining apps for iOS and Android

Sandvik Coromant has today announced the launch of its iOS and Android apps in eight new languages, making it far easier to access key data and productivity information in the field and on the machine shop floor. Free to download from the iTunes App Store and GooglePlay, the apps are now available in French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese versions.

Efficiency is now more important than ever. With this in mind, the apps provide instant access to detailed support including which tools to use, at what speeds, how long a process will take to complete, and how much it will cost.

The apps are an important part of Sandvik Coromant’s global strategy to support the evolving needs of production engineers and machine shops in the digital age. With a wide range of available languages, Sandvik Coromant offers customers a better choice of how, when and in what language they interact witht he company.

There are several Sandvik Coromant apps available. The Start Values app is designed to recommend cutting speed, feed and depth of cut for machining operations. The Insert Identifier app makes switching to Sandvik Coromant tools easy by identifying which Sandvik Coromant solution is equivalent to other inserts. The Turning Multi Materials app simplifies trying new material mixes and conditions and suggests customised selections of turning inserts. The Drilling and Tapping Calculator app provides quick and easy calculation of cycle times and costs for drilling applications. The Machining Calculator app helps optimize the performance of turning, milling and drilling applications by calculating optimal cut settings based on job parameters.

These free productivity apps can now be downloaded from iTunes or GooglePlay.
