Finisar opens Optics Tech Support Centre in Milan

Finisar has today announced the opening of a technical support centre in Milan, Italy, to serve its growing customer base in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The new centre will be staffed with an experienced team of Finisar's customer quality and field application engineers, who are available to provide programming and testing assistance and troubleshooting aid in support of Finisar's optical transceiver products.
Finisar has experienced strong revenue growth in EMEA over the last several years through the addition of new optics customers. Finisar's wide variety of synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH), wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) and Datacom transceivers are utilized by all major telecommunications
OEMs, storage and networking equipment manufacturers and industrial conglomerates in EMEA for a multitude of applications including mobile, transport, metro and access communication, LAN, SAN, industrial Ethernet, studio video, medical, military and railway signalling.

We are pleased to introduce a local technical support centre to serve our customers' increase in demand for our products and services, explained Federico Zanotti, Finisar's EMEA sales director. Finisar has successfully established itself as a leading optical components supplier in the region and this operation provides a solid foundation and the proper local infrastructure to address our customers' needs in a timely manner.

Finisar's EMEA sales network includes direct sales presence in Italy, United Kingdom and Germany as well as multiple representatives and distribution partners in each country. This extensive sales network is enabling customers to easily and quickly obtain localized assistance and technical support from a Finisar contact located within the same time zone.
