Facility to increase LSI post-processing production capacity

ROHM has plans to build a new facility at ROHM Integrated Systems (Thailand) (RIST) to address the increasing demand for expanding the post processing production capability of LSIs. The project, which is currently in the design phase, is scheduled to begin in December 2014 and be completed by December 2015.

The company has invested €100m in updating its manufacturing equipment at RIST and increasing the total floor space to 28,800m2. The new facility, which is expected to increase LSI post-processing production capacity by 1.4 times, will produce analogue power devices, including motor driver and power management ICs for the automotive and industrial markets.

At the new facility, the company plan to utilise its Business Continuity Management system, introducing LED lighting and high efficiency AC equipment as well as raising the first floor by 3m to protect against flooding.

To ensure stable product supply to customers worldwide, even during a disaster, ROHM plans to enhance production capacity to meet market needs by establishing a multi-site production system, optimising inventory management and making production equipment and processes more disaster-proof.
