Energy Micro signs distribution agreement with RTI in China

Energy Micro, the energy friendly microcontroller company, has appointed RTI Holdings as a distributor in Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China. RTI will distribute the complete family of ARM® Cortex™ M3-based low power EFM32 Gecko microcontrollers.

A leading value added reseller serving the communications, consumer and computer industries, RTI sells a broad range of semiconductor products through a network of 13 offices. RTI (an acronym for ‘Reliability, Technology and Intelligence’) acts as both a direct sell-through representative and as a true VAR, providing a high level of technical support and in-depth application engineering services.
Arthur Chau, Founder and CEO of RTI Holdings said, “Energy Micro’s ground-breaking product line is a really great fit with our highly motivated and sophisticated technical work force. We look forward to building a strong and lasting relationship with Energy Micro and its new customers throughout the region.”

Bryan Hung, Energy Micro’s VP Sales APAC said, “RTI’s design-in approach will help Energy Micro take the world’s most energy friendly microcontroller into a host of new and different customer applications in China. It’s very important that we have a distribution network we can rely on, and RTI provides the stability and business philosophy we can trust.”

Energy Micro’s EFM32 Gecko microcontroller family based on the ARM® Cortex™ M3 core has been proven to consume a quarter of the energy required by other 8, 16 and 32-bit microcontroller solutions. The company’s first product, the ultra low power EFM32 Gecko microcontroller was launched in October 2009 and is now in full production. Energy Micro has this year already announced details of its software and pin-compatible Tiny Gecko and Giant Gecko products, offering a comprehensive choice of package and memory size options.
