Cyntech Components has been named as the European distributor for Elenco's Snap Circuits, an educational product aimed at teaching children aged 8 and up about electronics. Manufactured in the US, the Snap Circuit kits come in a range of sizes and applications. The popular Snap Circuit Jr. 100, with the potential to build 100 different projects, has 30 parts including a photo resister, music integrated circuit, motor, and space sound integrated circuit.

Suggested projects that can be built from the kit, include a flying saucer, spin draw, doorbells, a light-controlled fan, alarm circuit, lit-up LEDS and an AM radio.

All of the kits are brightly designed, mounted on plastic modules and snap together with ease. They also come with colourful and easy to follow manuals. No special tools are required and all of the models use AA batteries.

The largest version, the Model SC-750 includes 80 parts and the ability to build an impressive 750 projects. There is a computer interface in the kit with an easy-to-follow manual that is suitable for an 8-year-old.

The SC-750 also offers an in-depth exploration of electronic components, allowing children to grasp the basic principles of electronics and therefore ideal for use in primary and secondary schools.

The Student Guide for the SC-750R includes 138 pages of educational information and covers all topics related to electricity and electronics and contains real world applications and problem solving quizzes.

Dave Mellor, Managing Director of Cyntech Components, said of the distribution deal, "We are really pleased to be announced as European distributers of Snap Circuits. The kits are a fantastic educational product that makes learning electronics easy and fun for children. The variety of project size and the scope available is impressive, and the kits work really well used in schools and by children at home. Snap Circuits are made to be friendly to little hands, as well as being sturdy and actually working reliably as electronic components."
