XMOS, in conjunction with its German sales partner Scantec, today announces that it will be giving away sliceKIT development board starter kits, each worth $149, to four lucky winners of an on-stand competition at Electronica 2012.
For a chance to win, attendees simply need to visit the Scantec stand at Electronica (Hall A4 Booth 242) and register their interest. XMOS staff will be on-hand to answer any questions about its products, technology and services.

sliceKIT, launched last month, consists of a core board powered by a 16-core xCORE multicore microcontroller and equipped with four expansion slots that can be populated with I/O extension cards (or ‘slices’). The sliceKIT starter kit includes a sliceKIT core board, a GPIO Slice card, and a 10/1000 Ethernet Slice card, as well as the XTAG2 USB-JTAG debug adaptor and a power supply.

xCORE, XMOS’ multicore microcontroller architecture, provides low latency, fast I/O response and the deterministic performance required for demanding real-time applications such as consumer, audio, industrial, and automotive. Supporting products such as the xTIMEcomposer development environment and the xSOFTip IP Library let designers harness these capabilities within a software-based design flow, offering an extremely rapid route to market.

The sliceKIT starter kit is available to purchase today from the XMOS website, along with a variety of other starter kits and other single ‘slices’, incorporating functions such as Ethernet, Octal UART, LCD graphics and digital audio.
