electronica 2006 will tune in to Wireless

Whether it is to discuss the benefits of the various wireless standards for a particular application, or to learn more about the increasing capabilities of WiFi technology where, for the first time, it is possible to deliver high-definition television over a wireless LAN at wire line quality, electronica, the World’s largest trade fair for the global electronics industry, will this year offer those interested in wireless communications the chance to learn, discuss and view the very latest developments in all aspects of wireless technology.

electronica 2006 will be staged at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre from November 14 to 17.

The great majority of device manufacturers supplying products for systems based on the various IEEE 802.11 standards as well as the Bluetooth and ZigBee protocols have reserved space at electronica 2006. In addition, those developing the latest space and power saving devices for cellular phones will also be present.

Many can be found in the traditional semiconductor halls whilst some are booked into the “Wireless Communications User Forum” where many of the latest wireless applications will be presented. Companies in the forum include LPRS from the UK, Radiocrafts from Norway, Omron from Japan, Wireless World from Switzerland and Amber wireless from Germany. The applications will range from toll and diagnostic systems in the automotive sector and RFID systems for the retail industry to multi-standard solutions for wireless LANs capable of being used anywhere in the world. The forum will give visitors a detailed look at developments in ZigBee, wireless LANs of all types and sizes, security, Bluetooth, navigation, UMTS and other sectors.

The exhibits within the “User Forum” will be complemented by the 2006 Wireless Congress, which will be held in English and is being supported by the ZigBee Alliance* which, itself, is planning a major presence at this year’s event.

Continued Innovation in components, modules and entire systems is matched only by the growth of new applications for wireless-based products. As a result, there is a constant demand for information from developers and system designers working on next generation wireless solutions.

The two day conference (November 15 and 16) is entitled “Wireless Congress 2006: Systems & Applications”. Last year’s Congress attracted more than 350 delegates from more than 20 countries. The Congress will discuss all the technical aspects of current and future wireless technologies, like WLAN, Mobile telephony, Personal networks, Industrial Radio Data and Wireless Automation, Security in Wireless Systems, RFID, NFC, Wireless sensor networks, WiMAX, UWB and Ubiquitous Computing.

The conference will major on systems design and applications and will interest everyone within the global wireless communications industry. All presentations will be in English.
